Job Summary:

Marcom, Apple's Global Marketing Communications group, is seeking a highly skilled Clearance & Licensing Manager - App Store to join our team. As a core member of our Business Affairs team, you will be responsible for securing rights and clearances for third-party IP in connection with App marketing, maintaining industry relationships, and ensuring compliance with Apple's guidelines and policies.

Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Business Affairs, content licensing, or a related field, with a strong background in copyright and trademark law, public domain, fair use, and rights of publicity
  • Proven expertise in licensing and contracts, with the ability to analyze complex agreements and mitigate risks
  • Knowledge of industry standards, including App Store guidelines and policies, as well as trends and developments in the app market
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, think strategically, and provide actionable guidance to internal teams

Job Description:

As a Clearance & Licensing Manager - App Store, you will:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Marketing, Services, Legal, Business, and Product teams to drive successful outcomes
  • Oversee the clearance process for third-party app and game content, ensuring timely updates, adherence to deadlines, and a world-class experience for developers
  • Uphold clearance standards that align with global Marcom Business Affairs objectives, fostering consistency across regions
  • Leverage your expertise to address complex IP and licensing issues, employing creative problem-solving and risk mitigation strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and providing strategic guidance
  • Proactively engage in marketing projects, identifying potential risks and mitigating them throughout the creative development, production, and execution phases
  • Manage digital assets from external partners using internal asset management systems
  • Collaborate closely with Legal teams to ensure compliance with trademark and broader legal issues

Education and Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required, with a JD or MBA desirable.
