Make a Difference in the Lives of Children
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time FocusFirst Vision Screener. As a Vision Screener, you will play a vital role in our high-tech comprehensive vision screening initiative, FocusFirst, which provides vision screenings to preschool-aged children in all 67 counties of Alabama.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct non-invasive vision screenings using a portable vision screener (device and training provided)
- Travel to and from vision screening sites across your assigned geographic region
- Export and upload vision screening results to a secure drive
- Provide exceptional customer service to center directors and children
- Maintain complete confidentiality and represent the organization in a professional manner
What We Offer:
- Competitive hourly rate of $18/hour
- Flexible schedule averaging three weekday mornings per week (10-15 hours per week)
- Mileage reimbursement as needed

Requirements:
- Basic computer and internet knowledge, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to interact with children and center directors in a professional manner
- Pass a criminal background check
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent the organization in a first-class manner
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while performing vision screenings
- Ability to lift, move, and set up screening equipment (up to 10 pounds)
- Good communication skills to interact with children and staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy
