Junior Designer
ALA Studio is a full service architecture and interior design firm based in NYC, specializing in innovative designs for various commercial spaces. They are seeking a Junior Designer to contribute to interior design projects, assist with client communication, and support the design team in various capacities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to planning and concepting, BIM modeling, preparing design presentations, visualizations and construction drawings
- Assist with research, design, selection, specification, & documentation of interior design elements such as furniture, fixtures, finishes, millwork, lighting, etc
- Assist with on-site surveying, construction administration and FF&E/Styling installation review
- Communicate and interface with clients, engineering consultant, vendors, dealers, manufacturers, fabricators & contractors
- Learn from and work closely under our Studio Director and Project Managers
- Maintain materials library and develop product and sample collection
Skills
- 0-3 post-degree years of relevant experience at an architecture or design office
- MUST have experience and proficiency in Revit and Enscape
- Comfort with multi-tasking and collaboration within a context of fast-paced projects
- Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and willing to take on a variety of tasks
- Excellent English language communication and client-facing skills
- Work examples that demonstrate a sophisticated design sensibility
- Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Excel, Smartsheet knowledge is also required
- Located in NYC area and available start ASAP
- Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employer sponsorship
- Experience on DD/CD phases for interior architecture projects is a plus
- FF&E sourcing and specification experience a plus
