Junior Geotechnical Staff Engineer
LaBella Associates is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Junior Geotechnical Staff Engineer position. The role involves performing geotechnical field investigations, assisting in managing subcontract services, and preparing engineering reports.
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical field investigations. This may include boring layouts, drilling inspections, and running geophysical surveys
- Coordinate and assist with managing the scope of services provided by subcontract drilling firms
- Perform visual classification and laboratory testing of soil samples
- Perform geotechnical field inspections during the construction phase, as needed
- Assist in preparing geotechnical engineering reports
- Participate in meetings with design team, stakeholders, and clients
Skills
- 0 to 2 years of progressive experience in the geotechnical engineering field
- EIT license is a plus
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Driver's License Required
- Possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to apply engineering knowledge to a variety of projects
- This position occasionally requires carrying 50-70 pounds
Education Requirements
- B.S. degree in civil engineering or related field
