19 February 2026 The Lead Accountant supports Central USA Mission Center and its congregations with key accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and HR, requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Position Description Open until Filled Employer Central USA Mission Center Remote Eligibility Not eligible Required Language(s) English Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree, accounting preferred Experience Required/Desired 5-8 years progressive accounting/process development responsibilities Immediate Supervisor Mission Center Financial Officer Employment Status 40+ hours/week Summary of Position This position provides support to Central USA Mission Center, its congregations and affiliates, as needed, in all aspects of accounting operations including general ledger, contributions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, payroll processing and human resource management. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and a solid understanding of accounting principles Essential Functions Assists the accounting team with the following tasks: Payroll management using third-party vendor software

Account reconciliation and general ledger maintenance

Accounts Payable/Receivable

Bank reconciliations, contribution processing and miscellaneous deposits

Transferring funds between various accounts and entities

Providing various reports to entities and church headquarters g. Answering congregation financial officer inquiries Required Competencies/Skills Thorough understanding of financial accounting principles and payroll processing; non-profit fund accounting experience preferred

Intermediate computer skills utilizing MS Office products and the ability to learn new computer programs

Excellent organization, and verbal and written communication skills

Proficient at emailing and managing/organizing email

Ability to work with multiple people, projects and priorities

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with both internal and external audiences

Accurate attention to detail

Required Trainings

New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
