We're seeking a highly skilled Lead System Engineering professional to join our team and drive the transformation of our industry-standard order and delivery management systems.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Lead System Engineering professional with a strong background in ServiceNow DevOps and platform development. As a Lead System Engineering professional, you will play a critical role in implementing new tools to simplify the use of ServiceNow for our 1000+ developers, 400+ scoped applications, and 10k+ users. You will work closely with our U.S.-based Solution Architects team, Product Management, Business Systems, and Operations teams throughout system development life cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide architecture, design, development, testing, and implementation of out-of-the-box ServiceNow software solutions.
- Support application teams in their use of the platform, including creating scoped apps, investigating issues, and providing solutions.
- Deliver new features around CICD, UAM, and platform tools to enable customers to develop solutions on the platform easily.
- Perform root cause analysis for platform failures, performance issues, custom tool failures, and general customer requests.
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions using Integration, Flow designer, Orchestration, Custom Application Development, Process Automation, and other ServiceNow features and functionalities.
- Collaborate with business analysts, process owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Guide team members with technical knowledge and provide direction for implementation.
- Follow best practices and standards for ServiceNow development and ensure the quality and performance of deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ServiceNow applications and modules, and provide support and guidance to end-users.
- Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and enhancements, and leverage them to improve existing solutions or create new ones.
- Provide technical leadership to build, motivate, guide, scale, and mentor team members, including performance management coaching.
- Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings and leverage modern technologies such as cloud capabilities to provide efficient solutions.
- Reuse and scale components to accommodate future growth and eliminate junk code.
- Support detailed documentation of systems and features.
- Act as a liaison between external vendors and internal product, business, engineering, and design teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development, configuration, and administration.
- Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
- At least one of the following certifications: Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
- 5+ years of experience working with Integration, Flow designer, Orchestration, Custom Application Development, Process Automation, notifications, and other ServiceNow modules and functionalities.
- 5+ years of experience working with Import Set, transform map, table API, and Robust Transform Engine.
- 5+ years of experience in integrating ServiceNow with other systems and platforms using REST/SOAP APIs, web services, MID server, etc.
- Strong technical leadership and project delivery experience, including via vendors.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and frameworks and how they are implemented in ServiceNow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic Linux or Unix familiarity, including basic shell scripting (Bash, CSH, etc.) and common tools such as vi/vim, grep, sed/awk, etc.
- Basic Windows administration, including PowerShell and/or batch scripting.
- JavaScript, HTML, AJAX, XML, REST, JSON, SOAP, and related web technologies, including common API methods and design patterns.
- Basic networking and firewall technologies.
- Agile software development methodology (SCRUM).
- ITIL and ITSM certification or similar experience.
