Long-Term Academic Content Substitute Teacher (1.0 FTE)
Through End of 2025–2026 School Year

Leominster Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join Leominster Academy (LPVLA), our innovative virtual high school program serving grades 9–12, for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year.

Leominster Academy provides a flexible, personalized learning environment designed to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students through virtual instruction, strong relationships, and individualized pathways.


Position Overview

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality virtual instruction, support student engagement and progress, and collaborate with a dedicated team focused on ensuring student success in a non-traditional learning environment.


Responsibilities



  • Provide synchronous and asynchronous instruction in a virtual setting



  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback



  • Build strong relationships with students to support engagement and accountability



  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families



  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to student support planning (MTSS/ILP structures)



  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, communication, and student performance




Qualifications



  • Massachusetts teaching license required in a 9–12 core content area (e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies)



  • Experience working with high school students preferred



  • Strong communication, organization, and technology skills



  • Ability to engage and support students in a virtual learning environment



  • Commitment to equity, flexibility, and relationship-driven instruction




Terms of Employment



  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) Long-Term Substitute



  • Position runs through the end of the 2025–2026 school year
