LPN - Inpatient Rehabilitation (Full-time, Days or Nights)

Join our team at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and play a vital role in transforming healthcare. As an LPN, you will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals who have experienced significant medical events, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, or spinal cord injury.

In this full-time position, you will have the opportunity to work either days or nights (6:45am-7:15pm or 6:45pm-7:15am) and be part of a team that is dedicated to helping patients achieve a safe and successful discharge to home. Our patients typically have a length of stay of 2-3 weeks, and our team provides comprehensive care, including physical, occupational, and speech therapies, medical management, patient and family education, and equipment support.

As an LPN at Carilion, you will:

• Practice practical nursing within the parameters set forth in Carilion Clinic's Plans for the Provision of Patient Care and function under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
• Partner with the RN in collecting data, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients of all ages.
• Participate in the nursing process, contribute to the development of the patient database and interdisciplinary plan of care, and identify patient educational needs.
• Implement prescribed therapeutic treatment plans and procedures, administer medication, and provide psychological, social, and cultural support to patients and their families.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Licensure to practice practical nursing in the state of Virginia.
• AHA BLS-HCP certification (or ability to obtain).
• De-escalation training (or ability to complete within four months of hire).
