Machine Learning Runtime Engineer

How this role will Serve, Own and Grow at Rev:

At Rev, we're on a mission to understand the human voice. We are looking for a runtime engineer to join our team at Rev. You should be interested in contributing to AIML projects including Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Speaker Diarization and the use of Large Language Models (LLM). An important component of this role will be to bridge the gap between research-oriented code and efficient deployable software. You enjoy working with the latest deep learning technologies, copious audiovisual and textual data and implementing the latest research findings.​

Responsibilities:

  • As a Rev Runtime Engineer, you will:

    Work jointly with our AI research and AI platform teams to productionize and optimize ML models

    Implement fast and efficient production quality code

    Work with a team of engineers and researchers to improve and innovate on the existing ASR, Diarization, (L)LM and NLP infrastructure

    Profile and optimize existing ASR, LLM and NLP models

    Collaborate with researchers to improve our testing and deployment strategies for AIML models

    Automate and integrate workflow from diverse systems

    Interact with other teams at Rev working towards a shared goal

    Qualifications:

    University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields

    Strong experience in C++

    Literacy in Python and Pytorch for high level understanding of research code and algorithms

    Experience debugging and identifying computational bottlenecks

    Deep understanding of software testing, benchmarking, and continuous integration

    Comfort with open-ended tasks, subjective evaluation, making judgment calls and piloting works in progress for production trials

    Experience working with AWS services

    Comfort with hardware infrastructure (CPU/GPU, NVIDIA)

    Nice to have knowledge of:

    SIMD, matrix math, OpenFst

    C#

    machine learning, speech or language processing, data science, empirical evaluation

    languages other than English, linguistics

    Location Requirement:
    If you're based in Austin, TX, this is a hybrid role with an expectation of being onsite 1–2 days per week at our office located at: 1717 W 6th St, Suite 310, Austin, TX 78703.

    If you're not based in Austin, this is a fully remote position.
