    Location: Remote, work from home. Candidates must live in Minnesota or a surrounding state.
    Employment Type: Full-Time, 213 Day Contract

    Position Summary

    Houston Public School District is seeking an Assistant Principal for Minnesota Virtual Academy  (MNVA) Elementary and Middle School, serving grades K-8. This position supports the Principal in providing instructional leadership, supervising staff, supporting student success, and ensuring compliance in a virtual learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support curriculum, instruction, and assessment aligned with Minnesota standards
    • Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff
    • Monitor student achievement, attendance, and engagement
    • Promote a positive and inclusive virtual school culture
    • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
    • Support state testing and required in-person activities
    • Collaborate with families, staff, and community partners

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Valid Minnesota K-12 Principal license
    • Minimum three (3) years of teaching experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in virtual or online education
    • Prior leadership experience
    • Strong communication and technology skills
