UPWORK JOB POST — BooTap Phase 1.5 ($1,000 Build)

I’m looking for an experienced mobile game developer to build the first polished version of my 2D tapping game, BooTap, for both iOS and Android.

This is a simple, kid-friendly ghost-tapping game where the player taps floating ghosts with different behaviors, animations, sounds, and difficulty scaling.

This job is Phase 1.5:

A fully playable, polished, App-Store-ready game WITHOUT monetization, yet.

If this phase goes well, I will continue with additional paid phases (monetization, cosmetics, power-ups, events, etc.).

⭐ Scope of Work (Deliverables)

1. Core Gameplay

Tap-to-pop ghost gameplay

Smooth ghost movement (floating, drifting, tweening)

Tap interactions with:

Pop animation

Particle effect

Sound

Score update

Dynamic difficulty scaling

Ghosts spawn randomly with configurable rates

5–7 ghost types with different behaviors (speed, taps required, movement patterns, rarity)

2. Ghost Types

Include at least:

Basic ghost – slow, 1 tap

Fast ghost – quick movement

Heavy ghost – requires 2–3 taps

Flicker ghost – appears/disappears

Zig-zag ghost – irregular movement

Rare ghost – low spawn chance, high points

Optional “mini-boss” ghost – rapid timed tapping challenge

Each ghost should have:

Idle animation

Pop animation

Spawn animation

Small particle effects

3. UI / UX

Animated Title Screen (Play button with simple movement)

In-game HUD:

Score

Best Score (save locally)

Level indicator

Game Over screen showing:

Score

Best Score

Restart button

Clean, kid-friendly UI transitions (fade, slide, bounce)

4. Visual Polish

2 animated backgrounds (night/spooky themes)

Light parallax (fog, stars, moon, mist)

Particles for taps and ghost pops

Smooth button animations

5. Sound & Music

Tap sound

Pop burst sound

Ghost-specific audio cues

Soft ambient background music loop

UI click sounds

Simple toggle for music/sounds in settings

6. Level & Progression System

Level system (Level 1–10 or endless)

Difficulty curve (speed, spawn rate, ghost mix)

Level-up notification or animation

Reward feedback animations (score bursts, effects)

7. Future Monetization Hooks (NOT implemented yet)

No monetization backend needed now.

8. Technical Requirements

Should run smoothly on iOS and Android

Support multiple screen sizes and aspect ratios

Deliverables:

Xcode-ready iOS project

Full source code and project files

Build in Unity or Godot (developer’s preference)

Clean, modular code to allow future additions

9. Documentation

Provide a short README including:

How to open/build the project

How to adjust ghost spawn rates or difficulty

How to add or modify ghost types

Where art/sound assets are stored

Any dependencies

Budget & Payment Structure

Fixed price: $1,000 USD

Timeline: approximately 2–3 weeks

Payment will be released per milestone upon successful delivery.
