The Content Team delivers high-quality, trustworthy content and tools to help consumers confidently navigate financial decisions throughout their lives. We’re looking for a Multimedia Content Strategist to join our growing team and support video content across YouTube and social media channels. In this role, you’ll ensure content meets NerdWallet’s editorial standards and supports our audience growth and business goals.

You’ll work closely with content creators and cross-functional partners to pitch, script, edit, and review video content from concept to delivery—ensuring it’s engaging, accurate, and impactful. You’ll also contribute to strategy, manage production timelines, and help guide creators through editorial and technical processes.

In order to be successful in this position, it’s important to bring strong project management skills, sound editorial judgment, and a collaborative mindset. Confidence in guiding creators through the production process—including offering constructive feedback and coaching—is key. A solid understanding of video workflows, paired with a sharp eye on YouTube, social media, and digital trends, will help keep content fresh and relevant. Attention to detail, especially in copy editing and fact-checking, along with comfort using content management systems like WordPress, will support high-quality, efficient content delivery.

This role will report to the Head of Content, Multimedia.

Where you can make an impact: 

• Lead the creative production process by developing and managing a content calendar for multiple video channels, including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok

  Collaborate with content creators and strategists to coordinate and plan video production

  Pitch and develop innovative ideas and write and edit compelling and engaging scripts that align with brand goals and editorial standards to grow the channel and engage our audience

  Monitor the production process, ensuring timely delivery of assets at every stage

  Upload and distribute assets within various content management systems

  Comprehensively edit and QC multiple versions of video assets, including scripts, videos, captions, and static content ensuring the content is accurate, clear and engaging while meeting NerdWallet's editorial standards

  Work as a problem solver: identify areas of friction or where there may be blockers and suggest solutions, audit systems and processes to identify areas for optimization, and work cross-functionally to align content needs with strategic goals

Your experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role including experience with: project management, content planning, audio/video production, script writing and comprehensive line editing, research, and remote communication best practices

  Professional experience in video production, video editing, or a related field

  Strong writing, storytelling and line editing skills, with a knack for engaging content creation

  Excellent project management abilities, with a history of meeting tight deadlines

  Proficiency in video editing tools, content management systems, and video editing software, including on-platform social media and YouTube video editing

  Thorough understanding of social media and YouTube content guidelines and experience managing social content calendars

  Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work cross-functionally

  Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

  Knowledge of YouTube and social media trends and audience engagement strategies
