Municipal Engineer - Entry Level
SEH is an employee-owned engineering, architectural, planning, and environmental company focused on Building a Better World for All of Us®. They are seeking an Entry Level Municipal Engineer to support their Civil Engineering Teams, gaining hands-on experience in construction inspection and design while collaborating on various infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Supporting members of our Civil Engineering Teams
- Use of AutoCAD Civil 3D for analysis and design of roadways, trails, sidewalks, water main, sanitary and storm sewer systems and site improvements
- Use of Excel for development of project bid item tables, quantities and cost opinions
- Prepare construction plans and specifications, site plans, grading and drainage plans, studies and reports for a wide range of public and private infrastructure systems
- This position may serve as a Field Engineer during the construction season, involving observation of municipal infrastructure improvements
- This opportunity is open to candidates residing in or around the St. Paul, MN area
Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Ability to collaborate in-office a minimum of three (3) days per week
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc
- Strong Written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience or training with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Previous Civil Engineering or construction experience through internships
- Ability to read, comprehend and interpret engineering plans and topographic maps
