Oncology Data Specialist I
<p><span><strong>A Brief Overview</strong></span></p><p><span><strong>This position is completely remote</strong></span></p><p><span>The Oncology Data Specialist I is responsible for abstracting and timely submission of cancer tumor registry data</span><br><span>for multiple UH hospitals.</span></p><p><span><strong>What You Will Do</strong></span><br><span>• Conducts accurate and complete cancer case ascertainment according to the requirements of the</span><br><span>American College of Surgeons and the State of Ohio.</span><br><span>• Codes, classifies and indexes stage of disease and treatment information.</span><br><span>• Performs data quality checks to ensure data quality and completeness of records.</span><br><span>• Understanding of CoC standards, particularly data quality standards.</span><br><span>• Maintains a maximum abstracting delay of 6 months from the date of diagnosis.</span><br><span>• Maintains case follow up rate as required per CoC standards.</span><br><span>• Participates in special projects, as needed.</span><br><span>• Meets minimum department productivity and accuracy standards.</span></p><p><span><strong>Additional Responsibilities</strong></span><br><span>• Performs other duties as assigned.</span><br><span>• Complies with all policies and standards.</span><br><span>• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during</span><br><span>orientation.</span><br><span>• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for</span><br><span>our patients.
