Patient Medicine Experience Specialist (12 month Secondment)

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Patient Partnerships Optimization Lead, this Patient Medicine Experience secondment will lead the strategic advancement of adherence and persistence strategies across the patient medicine journey. The Patient Medicine Experience Specialist will design, test, and disseminate evidence-based tools and metrics that quantify how improved adherence leads to better outcomes for patients and greater value for Pfizer. Working across therapeutic areas, the role will build connections between internal initiatives and external public private partnership collaborations like IMI BEAMER and IHI CAREPATH to synthesize learnings, avoid duplication, and accelerate implementation.

The Specialist will serve as an internal catalyst for embedding adherence insights into clinical operations, digital support programs, and on-market product strategies.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and socialize a strategic roadmap to elevate adherence and persistence across Pfizer’s patient engagement strategies.

    Define, test, and validate evidence-based metrics for adherence impact (clinical, humanistic, and commercial).

    Partner with teams across Medical Affairs, RWE, Clinical Development, and Commercial to identify gaps, align tools, and drive uptake.

    Lead internal evaluation of the BEAMER B-COMPASS adherence model and assess implementation feasibility across therapeutic areas.

    Build a curated, modular toolkit of adherence-support interventions applicable to digital, clinical, and pharmacy settings.

    Establish forums to share findings and build organizational capability in adherence-focused program design.

    Translate data into compelling business cases that demonstrate ROI of improved adherence to senior leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field

    Significant experience in patient engagement, clinical operations, or health outcomes strategy

    Demonstrated experience in generating or applying patient-centered evidence

    Ability to synthesize complex evidence and translate it into operational guidance

    Familiarity with behavior change models and digital support interventions

    Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement

    Strong analytical and communication skills, including data visualization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree (MPH, MSc, PharmD, PhD)

  • Experience in adherence-related research or patient support program design

    Knowledge of regulatory, HTA, and commercial implications of adherence data

    Involvement in patient focused external consortia (e.g., IMI/IHI PREFER, BEAMER etc)

    NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

    Up to 20% travel, including meetings with external partners and workshops with internal teams

    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate engagement with community groups or international colleagues in different time zones

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

    Works closely with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, RWE, Commercial, Digital Health, and Global Patient Affairs

    External collaborations with BEAMER, CAREPATH, and other academic or consortia partners

    Supervision

    May coordinate a cross-functional working group or matrix team during the secondment.
