itD is seeking a Payroll Specialist to oversee and execute accurate, timely payroll processing. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations while delivering excellent support to employees. The ideal candidate has experience managing payroll in environments with commissions or variable compensation and is comfortable working cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Sales.

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.We provide comprehensive medical benefits, a 401k plan, paid holidays, unlimited PTO, and more.Please note that we are only considering direct W2 candidates at this time, as we are unable to offer sponsorship.

 

Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Calculate sales commission payments based on company compensation plans

Validate commission data in coordination with Sales and Finance teams

Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits deductions, and commission structures

Review and verify timekeeping and sales and commission data for completeness and accuracy

Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies

Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions as needed

Manage payroll taxes, filings, and year-end reporting, including W-2s

Coordinate with HR and Finance teams on employee data and benefits administration

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, commissions, deductions, and discrepancies

Assist with audits and provide documentation as required

Identify opportunities to improve payroll and commission processes and systems

 

Internal Responsibilities

Attend regular internal practice community meetings

Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership

Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material)

Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice

Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual)

Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities

Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience

3+ years of payroll processing experience, including commission-based compensation

Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations

Experience with payroll software such as Paycom, Rippling, or similar systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation

Experience in multi-state payroll processing

Familiarity with HRIS and commission tracking systems

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
