Payroll Specialist

To maintain our momentum, we need people to join us in finding new ways of solving our unique challenges - people like you.Payroll SpecialistWe are looking for a fast learner and hands-on Payroll Specialist to join Adyen's Payroll team in San Francisco, a dynamic team within our Finance function. As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for processing in-house payroll in the US in Workday Payroll, and coordinating payroll in the LATAM / EMEA region for our other entities where we use external payroll providers.You would report to the Global Payroll Team Lead, and be part of the centralized, Amsterdam-based payroll team. You will be based in San Francisco, together with our local HR team and part of our strategic finance team.At Adyen, our people are our greatest asset. - Be the champion for Payroll automation, data, and scale.
- Advance organizational effectiveness and solve challenges by tapping into your Payroll expertise.
- Support and scale ongoing team projects by working closely with external vendors, and every part of the Finance and HR Team.
- Maintain, review and validate data for US payroll using Workday Payroll module.
- Partner internally to manage Payroll compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with the accounting and finance teams to provide commentary on the journals and reconciliation (for NORAM and other assigned regions).
- Participate in audits for 401K, Workers Compensation and general audit.
- Provide standard and ad-hoc payroll reports to various internal departments such as HR, Finance, Accounting, Tax and Equity.
- Process payments for final paychecks, adjustments and special pay.
- At least 2-5 years of US in-house payroll processing experience.
- Strong knowledge of Workday and Workday Payroll.
- A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
- Experience processing equity transactions, including RSU and ESPP.
- Demonstrated understanding of US payroll compliance and taxes.
- You're well-organized and like to solve problems with a pragmatic approach.
- You're data driven with an analytical mindset.
- You have a global mindset, and are able to work across time zones and cultures.
- You have project management skills, are resourceful, and able to work independently.
- Travel to Amsterdam HQ will be required (once or twice per year).
