Power BI Developer — Sales Order Entry Report (D365 F&O)

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Power BI developer to build a custom Sales Order Entry Report sourced from our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) ERP. The report will provide visibility into sales order intake activity — new orders entered, order backlog status, order lines, and entry trends — to support operations and sales leadership in daily and weekly planning.

SCOPE OF WORK

- Connect Power BI to D365 F&O via OData or Dataverse/Azure Synapse Link (preferred)

- Identify and map relevant D365 data entities (sales order headers, lines, customers, delivery schedules)

- Build a clean, professional Power BI report covering order entry volume by date, customer, item, and sales rep; open order backlog; and order line detail drill-through

- Include slicers for date range, customer, order type, site/warehouse, and sales rep

- Configure scheduled data refresh and publish to Power BI Service workspace

- Deliver documentation covering data model, refresh schedule, and filter logic

REQUIREMENTS

- Demonstrated experience building Power BI reports connected to D365 F&O

- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and star-schema data modeling

- Familiarity with D365 F&O sales order entities (SalesOrderHeaderV2, SalesOrderLineV3, etc.)

- Ability to work independently and deliver on agreed timeline

- Strong async communication skills (Microsoft Teams)

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience with D365 F&O in manufacturing or distribution environments

- Row-level security (RLS) and workspace deployment pipelines in Power BI

DELIVERABLES

- .pbix source file with full data model and report pages

- Published report in our Power BI Service workspace

- Short documentation (1–2 pages) covering data sources, refresh, and filter logic
