Summary:

This position leads the development and coordination of HDT CBRN products among all departments for PLD to ensure the latest state-of-the-art technology for the product line.  Develops and implements the strategic directions for the CBRN product line including competitive market analysis, planning, project management to execute new product introduction and existing product cost reduction and performance improvement.

Essential Duties:

Directs/oversees project management to implement new product introduction

Oversees existing products improvement to ensure top quality delivery

Provides technical guidance to engineering R&D for product development direction

Leads the development and refinement of technical resources, policies, systems, analysis methods, and measure characterizations to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical information and services to marketing team, staff, and customers

Responsible for developing consumer and channel communication strategies for new product launch including overall management of content, value proposition and unified messaging throughout all datasheets, manuals, and presentations

Carries out research to determine customer needs and expectations in order to develop new products

Generates business cases that drive product rationalization and sunset decisions, recommends product extensions and provides product enhancement roadmaps that align with customer roadmaps, acquisitions plans, and technology development roadmaps

Leads PLM participation in savings verification and technical quality assurance activities, including providing training, developing policies and procedures, and participating in periodic technical reviews

Responsible for producing business statistics among which are price points, product mix sales history, and competition for product introduction.

30% travel, with international travel, required

 Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:

BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred

Ten plus years of practical hands-on experience in military grade CBRN life support products and applications, including military CBRN filters, military CBRN positive and negative pressure filtration systems and ColPro systems, for combat and tactical vehicle, emergency responders, transportable and expeditionary applications, shipboard and fixed sites

Familiarity with decontamination and detection systems and applications preferable

Strong understanding of various technical aspects of each product within the CBRN product line

Strong understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies, components, and manufacturing principles

Experience and strong proficiency with detailed engineering structure mechanics, documentation of analysis procedures, development of analysis tools

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
