Professional Engineer
Overview
A Certified Professional Engineer (CPE) with a focus on data centers manages the design, implementation, and ongoing operations of data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. This includes planning, project execution, troubleshooting, and collaborating with various teams to maintain peak operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Developing blueprints, schematics, and detailed plans for engineering projects, considering feasibility, cost, and maintenance
Developing conceptual engineering plans for datacenter builds, expansions, and retrofits
Manage the engineering process from concept through final engineering
Conducting tests, simulations, and analysis to evaluate the performance and durability of materials and systems.
Ensuring projects comply with safety and regulatory standards, including building codes, environmental regulations, and industry-specific standards
Working with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders, including clients and regulatory agencies, to ensure project success and compliance
Overseeing project timelines, budgets, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
Supervising and mentoring junior team members, providing guidance and feedback
Preparing technical reports, documentation, and submissions to regulatory agencies
Identifying and resolving design errors, omissions, and other issues that could impact project completion or regulatory compliance
Identifying opportunities to improve product design, function, or efficiency
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
A significant amount of professional engineering experience is needed, often requiring working under a licensed PE
Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Professional Engineering (PE) exams is mandatory for PE licensure in most states
Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) analytical tools, and engineering principles
Strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and teamwork skills are essential

It’s important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors- i.e. budgetary requirements.Pay Range $120,000.00- $180,980.79
