The Project Engineer I is an entry-level role that supports both office and field operations by assisting with project planning, coordination, documentation, and execution in alignment with budget, schedule, and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of project cost estimates, proposals, and material take-offs
  • Perform technical analysis of the remediation methodologies of various previously remediated projects
  • Perform other administrative or office duties as required or as assigned
  • Travel to project sites as necessary for extended durations
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Preparing project submittals
  • Maintaining project record documents
  • Perform technical review of contract plans and specifications
  • Provide oversight and documentation related to project quality control in accordance with the contract plans, specifications, and company policies and procedures
  • Preparing daily construction reports and progress tracking
  • Manage, interpret, and perform site surveying
  • Assist with the management of subcontractors
  • Assist with the procurement or rental of equipment and materials
  • Assist Project Manager with project daily cost reporting and tracking
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in construction or engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project management software
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license, ability to drive for the company
  • Internship or co-op experience in construction or engineering, specifically site surveying, earthwork, In-Situ Stabilization, mechanics of solids (particularly of soils), hydraulics, theory of structure, strength of materials, engineering geology
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and USACE QCS systems
  • Experience with site surveying using both conventional and GPS methods
  • Assisting in the development of cost estimates and proposals
  • Experience with materials procurement and purchasing
