What to expect:
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be supporting the business by assisting with all aspects of quality assurance functions, operational processes and oversight of QA projects.
These includes:
Operational
Review and approve initial company certification (CSA W47.1 etc.)
Review and approve management system registrations (ISO 9001 etc.)
Review and approve initial applications for welding engineer qualification
Oversight and management of the CWB certification exams (inspectors, engineers, supervisors)
Accreditation
Assist with the overall maintenance and upgrades of the CWB Quality Management Systems to comply with accreditation requirements
Perform internal audits of region and head offices to demonstrate compliance with accreditation and quality system requirements
Periodically conduct company survey visits with CWB Group staff and contract auditors to establish uniform practices in compliance with the CWB Group’s operating policies and procedures, to ensure consistent and fair administration of the Standards and that corporate safety practices are being followed
Recommend changes to quality system procedures, work instructions and forms to render certification and registration services more efficient
Perform file assessments to verify requirements are met prior to granting certification/registration
Participate in audits of the CWB Certification, CWB Registration and other meetings related to the CWB Group’s accreditations
Other duties
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
Participate in regional staff meetings as required
Reply to inquiries and communication to clients and responds to general technical inquiries as a technical expert
Other duties as periodically assigned
Monitor and assess the training progress for new full and part time certification representatives to ensure the employee has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge
Present to staff on quality issues as required
In this role, you will report to the Registrar and Director, Quality Assurance. You will be working remotely from your home office in Canada. CWB has adopted a remote-first working model, where employees will work from their home office, servicing the client within their specified areas either remotely or in person. We are embracing radical flexibility, where employees are encouraged to work a schedule that works best for them, their team, and their clients.
What you bring to the table:
Bilingual in French and English
Successful completion of an accredited Lead Auditor course. (ISO 9001 etc.)
Solid Industrial background in the metal fabrication area. (Welding)
Technical knowledge of Management Systems.
General business knowledge; Solid understanding of the CSA welding-related standards (CSA W47.1 etc.).
Quality Assurance experience (establishing, implementing, maintaining systems).
Supervisory experience.
Possess leadership and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work with minimal amount of supervision.
The following qualifications are considered assets:
Welding inspector
Welding supervisor/engineer (CSA W47.1 etc.)
Management systems auditor
