Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. DwyerOmega is seeking a Junior Analytics Engineer to join their Business Intelligence team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals eager to learn and grow their skills on a modern data platform, involving responsibilities such as building data pipelines and supporting analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, OneLake)
  • Support data ingestion from various sources into analytics-ready datasets
  • Write and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries and PySpark
  • Help prepare data for Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Perform data validation and quality checks
  • Troubleshoot simple data pipeline and data issues with guidance
  • Document data processes and learn platform best practices
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Translate business requirements into data models and visualizations
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and validate data
  • Create and maintain Power BI data models, DAX measures, and calculated fields
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure report accuracy

Skills

  • 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related technical role (internships, academic projects, or bootcamp experience are welcome)
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with data concepts (ETL, data pipelines, data models)
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts
  • Familiarity with DAX fundamentals (measures, calculated columns)
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new tools and technologies
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, Python or Py-Spark
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Academic or project experience with BI or analytics and AI
  • Understanding of data warehousing fundamentals
  • Power BI certification (PL-300) or working toward it
