They are seeking a Claim Advisor for Accident Benefits to investigate, evaluate, and settle claims while ensuring compliance with the Insurance Act and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate accident benefit claims to determine coverage eligibility and the appropriate resolution
  • Process various types of claims including medical rehabilitation and disability claims. Coordinate actions and decisions to ensure the most effective resolution for each claim
  • Maintain detailed and accurate file records on the electronic claims system
  • Respond to claimant correspondence and accident benefit forms in compliance with legislation
  • Perform other duties as assigned, to support the department and meet organizational goals

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills for effective correspondence with claimants and representatives and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Minimum post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Enrolled in, or completion of, CIP designation
  • Experience working in a medical or legal environment, or having a medical or legal background is an asset
  • Minimum of 1-2 years adjusting insurance claims or similar role is preferred
