[Remote] Competitive Research Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Zoom is seeking a Competitive Research Analyst to join their Competitive Insight team. This role involves researching competitors, tracking market movements, and developing industry intelligence assets to support product, sales, and marketing teams.
Responsibilities
- Competitive Research & Intelligence: Tracking competitors in meetings, chat, events, AI, and collaboration spaces to maintain comprehensive market awareness. Identifying emerging threats and opportunities, and ensure our strategy remains responsive to industry dynamics
- Monitoring product updates, feature releases, and roadmap announcements to anticipate industry moves. Informing our product strategy and enabling proactive positioning before market shifts occur
- Researching pricing changes, packaging strategies, and market positioning. Optimizing our own pricing strategy, identify market gaps, and ensure industry value propositions that resonate with target customers (B2B and B2C)
- Analyzing competitor messaging, marketing campaigns, and customer communications to understand how competitors position themselves, identify messaging opportunities for differentiation, and develop more effective counter-positioning strategies
- Assist in building industry frameworks and comparison materials
- Supporting the creation of battle cards, briefs, and positioning documents to help sales and online routes to market
- Maintaining market intelligence repository and knowledge base, developing clear summaries, comparison tables, and presentation slides that make insights accessible to stakeholders
- Provide market intelligence support to Product, Sales, and Marketing teams
- Contributing to sales enablement by developing industry insights and training materials
- Supporting product launches and go-to-market strategies with market input
- Assisting in preparing findings, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or equivalent experience
- 1–2 years in market intelligence, market research, business analysis, or similar work (internships count)
- Solid analytical and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights
- Familiarity with SaaS business models and collaboration software markets, including video conferencing, chat platforms, or AI tools
