Remote HR Generalist
A mission-driven national nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team on a fully remote, temp-to-hire basis. This role will support a growing team of approximately 45+ employees and partner closely with the HR Manager to manage day-to-day HR operations while also helping improve and streamline internal HR processes.
This position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being both hands-on operationally and strategic in improving systems and processes. The organization is looking for someone with a strong HR foundation who can serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers while supporting recruiting, employee relations, and payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees, addressing questions, resolving workplace concerns, and supporting a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Support performance management processes including reviews, goal setting, feedback, and employee development planning.
• Partner with hiring managers to coordinate full-cycle recruiting efforts including sourcing, interviewing coordination, and onboarding.
• Review and improve HR policies, procedures, and internal processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and alignment with best practices.
• Review and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy and alignment with evolving organizational needs.
• Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping, and benefits administration to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and compliance tracking.
• Develop and maintain HR tracking systems and databases to support reporting and workforce planning.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR function including scheduling, documentation, and correspondence.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of HR Generalist experience with a strong understanding of HR operations.
• Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and recruiting.
• Exposure to or experience assisting with payroll processes.
• ADP experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with a distributed team.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable balancing strategic process improvement with day-to-day HR administration.
