We are seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates proficient in transcribing depositions and hearings for a remote independent contractor role. The role entails transcribing content from depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, demanding keen attention to detail, knowledge of legal terminology, and strong grammar skills.
• *Responsibilities**
• Produce verbatim transcripts by processing audio recordings in adherence to specified style guides.
• Manage workload independently while complying with deadlines and client-specific requirements.
• Collaborate remotely with a supportive in-office team for guidance, ensuring accuracy and quality in transcriptions.
• *Requirements**
• Previous experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription.
• Exceptional listening skills and outstanding literacy abilities.
• Proficiency in typing speed and accuracy.
• Ability to process complex audio/text content, including potentially offensive material.
• Background check clearance and familiarity with legal terminology.
• Candidates studying court reporting will also be considered (excluding Massachusetts and California residents).
