Vivint Smart Home, an NRG owned company, is a leading smart home company in the United States, dedicated to redefining the home experience with intelligent products and services. In this role, you’ll be building the back-end APIs and services that power our app experiences for Vivint’s millions of customers, directly impacting how they secure and control their homes.

Responsibilities

Implement APIs used by the Vivint’s mobile apps
Write handlers to communicate with Vivint cameras
Work with experienced software developers to implement new features

Skills

Experience with Go and Python or similar languages
Currently in your sophomore semester of college/university
Experience developing REST and/or gRPC APIs
Familiarity with Kubernetes and/or Docker
Understanding of MQTT for communicating with IoT devices
Understanding of non-relational (NoSQL) databases like MongoDB
