The Proposal Engineer - Power & Renewables will manage the development of technical proposals and project cost estimates in collaboration with sales and technical teams to produce high-quality, competitive bids.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the proposal process and timelines, ensuring accountability for all stakeholders
  • Leads the draft response document and draft estimate creation efforts and collaborates with the pursuit team to ensure accuracy of inputs
  • Partners with technical, sales, and field services teams to secure input from all stakeholders
  • Optimize scope to address client needs and ensure our response is clear and compelling
  • Maintain company-wide consistency for proposals, templates, corporate guidelines, and other standards and industry best practices
  • Prepare proposal development plan (PDP), manage assignments, manage communication, and overall organization of the proposal response
  • Manage/facilitate subcontractor elements of a proposal, if needed
  • Responsible for the integrity of CRM data for opportunities in the development stage
  • Lead internal opportunity-specific meetings
  • Participate in the development of new processes, efficiency tools, and databases at the team and company level
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, structural, mechanical, or civil) or a technical field related to power or renewables
  • 1-5 years of experience in proposals or project management in the power or renewables market
  • Strong business acumen: project management, proposals, and consulting engineering
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and external stakeholders
  • Client-centric oriented behavior
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and foster lasting relationships
  • Proficient in computer skills, utilizing Microsoft software programs and add-ins

  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or registered professional engineer (PE) preferred
