Research Administrative Assistant

The Research Administrative Assistant provides general administrative and operational support to the Principal Investigator and the research team, focusing on organization and logistics related to research activities.
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to the Principal Investigator (PI) for clinical studies and grant applications (e.g., Researcher Home Page submission entries) and Travel Authorization Processes (TAP) approvals
- Organizes invitations and logistics for academic visitors and guest speakers
- Supports Shared Services on processes related to visiting professors, adjunct appointments, postdoctoral fellows, and lab visitors
- Purchases study supplies and materials on behalf of research staff
- Prepares and reconciles monthly credit card statements
- Initiates purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices through SupplyNet; processes vendor payments as required
- Assists with Shared Services, Finance, and HR on staff appointments and payments
Skills
- College diploma
- Proficiency using information systems, including Microsoft Office Suite software (e.g., Word, Excel)
- Familiarity with the University of Alberta Policies and Procedures Online (UAPPOL) is an asset
