They are seeking a recent law school graduate for a one-year Post-Graduate Research Assistant Fellowship at the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights, where the fellow will assist with research, writing, and program development related to civil rights initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Center operations
  • Engage in research and writing
  • Assist in program development and implementation
  • Assist in research and content development of the Center's new Detroit Democracy Project
  • Assist with special events and activities

Skills

  • J.D. from a Counsel-accredited law school is required
  • The applicant must be a Class of 2025 graduate from a Counsel-accredited law school
  • Have an interest in civil rights
  • Candidates must be able to engage in research and writing at a high level
  • Exercise independent judgment
  • Responsibly manage multiple projects
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
