Route Optimization Manager

Position Overview

This role provides leadership and support to Regional Distribution Center (RDC) Managers and Directors to improve outbound route efficiency. The position oversees a team of Transportation Coordinators (TCs) and drives solutions to final‑mile routing challenges through data‑driven analysis and continuous improvement.


The ideal candidate has strong optimization and analytical skills, communicates effectively, and thinks creatively to solve complex problems. They are highly curious, forward‑thinking, and comfortable experimenting with new tools and technologies to refine processes. Strong organization, attention to detail, and a self‑directed, entrepreneurial mindset are essential.


Responsibilities:

Advance the analytics strategy for the ROM team through innovation and application of data insights.

Develop, test, and validate new KPIs and process improvements that drive continuous improvement.

Analyze operational data and create reporting that supports cost savings and service improvements.

Oversee routing quality across the region, with a focus on service, efficiency, and execution at each RDC.

Partner with peers, RDC Managers, and Directors to identify, monitor, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).

Build and maintain strong relationships and strategic alignment with leadership across the organization.

Coach and develop TCs, fostering accountability, capability, and growth.

Collaborate cross functionally and influence others.

Set clear performance expectations and execution timelines for TCs in partnership with leadership.

Act as frontline support for routing software, systems, and process issues.

Lead training and onboarding for new associates.

Serve as front line support for routing software or process issues.

Partner with the SCBS group to identify system and reporting enhancements, while supporting testing and implementation of updates.

Requirements:

4 Year Degree + 2 years of logistics or data analysis experience OR 3+ years of logistics or data analysis experience

Strong proficiency in M365, Power BI, Data Bricks, Tableau, or similar applications

Experience with and comfort utilizing emerging AI-driven tools

Willingness and ability to travel to regional warehouses throughout the United States

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Passion for critical thinking and solving complex problems through innovative solutions

Organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed


Preferred:

Advanced spreadsheet development, data cleansing, forecasting, and other analytical methods

Experience using advanced technology and AI tools to enhance analysis, improve efficiency, and support business transformation

Experience using coding languages such as SQL, Python, etc
