Security Operations Analyst
The Thomson Reuters Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) organization is seeking a Security Operations Analyst to join our growing global Security Operations Center (SOC). The candidate will join a team responsible for managing cybersecurity alerts, events, and incidents as well as partnering with the other ISRM capabilities to improve the Thomson Reuters security posture.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Security Operations Analyst, you will: Drive network security monitoring and incident response for a global enterprise network Respond, Analyze and Triage alerts from many different security tools, including IDS and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Collaborate with other ISRM teams to provide feedback on cybersecurity detection and alerting capabilities Perform malware analysis through open-source and vendor provided tools Communicate alerts to clients regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems Prepare briefings and reports of analysis methodology and results Create and maintain standard operating procedures and other similar documentation Generate end-of-shift reports for documentation and knowledge transfer to subsequent analysts on duty Maintain records of security monitoring and incident response activities, utilizing case management and ticketing technologies About You You’re fit for the role of Security Operations Analyst if you have: A background and/or degree in cybersecurity or computer science. One plus year(s) in a SOC or incident response environment is considered an advantage. Hands-on experience investigating security incidents across operating systems, networks, cloud environments, and messaging platforms.
Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, antivirus, firewalls, forensics, and cloud security solutions. Solid understanding of cybersecurity attack and defense techniques, including threat detection and mitigation strategies. Working knowledge of networking, operating systems, servers, and workstations, with the ability to troubleshoot and analyze security events.
A strong interest in continuous learning and developing new cybersecurity skills. Experience with cloud security tools like AWS or Azure is a plus. #LI-LP2 What’s in it For You?
