Senior APIM/CXI Engineer Lead

ImagineX Studio is seeking a highly skilled Senior APIM/CXI Engineer Lead to support customer‑facing initiatives within the CXI domain while also contributing to enterprise API management and integration efforts. This role will split responsibilities between CXI program delivery and API engineering, ensuring strong technical execution across both areas. The ideal candidate brings deep APIM expertise and the versatility to support API development within CXI as well as, when capacity allows, contribute to the Gigawatt API service build‑out.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering efforts across CXI customer initiatives, ensuring high‑quality delivery of API and integration solutions
Support API development, configuration, and governance within the APIM ecosystem
Collaborate closely with CXI leadership, architects, and engineering teams to align technical execution with customer needs
Build, secure, and optimize APIs, policies, and gateways across customer‑facing and enterprise platforms
Troubleshoot and resolve complex API, integration, and platform issues across environments
Contribute to Gigawatt API service build‑out when available, supporting platform expansion and modernization
Implement API governance standards, lifecycle management, and best practices across CXI and enterprise domains
Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide subject matter expertise across APIM, integration patterns, and customer‑facing API solutions
Required Qualifications
Extensive hands‑on experience with API Management platforms (Azure APIM, Apigee, Kong, Mulesoft, or similar)
Strong understanding of API design, REST standards, security protocols (OAuth, JWT, mTLS), and integration patterns
Proven experience supporting customer‑facing API initiatives or CX‑driven engineering programs
Ability to lead engineering efforts across multiple workstreams with competing priorities
Strong troubleshooting skills across API, networking, and integration layers
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder‑facing skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Azure APIM and customer‑experience‑focused API delivery
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid integration architectures
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation for API deployments
Background supporting large‑scale modernization or transformation initiatives
Experience with microservices, containers, and service mesh technologies
