The Senior Application Specialist is responsible for the administration, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of the Deltek Vantagepoint system. This role partners closely with the Vice President, Finance to support strategic initiatives, improve system functionality, and support data-driven decision-making through dashboards, reporting, and workflow enhancements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Vantagepoint, a deep understanding of multiple modules, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

System Administration & Optimization

Act as the subject matter expert for Deltek Vantagepoint, including a strong working knowledge of multiple modules (e.g., Projects, Accounting, CRM, Resource Planning)

Maintain and optimize system configurations, workflows, and processes

Evaluate system updates and enhancements, recommending improvements and best practices

Ensure system integrity, lead testing, validation and rollout of new features and changes in alignment with business processes

Support of Finance Initiatives

Partner with the Vice President, Finance to support strategic initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvements

Translate business requirements into technical solutions within Vantagepoint

Lead or support implementation of new features, modules, or process changes from a technical perspective

Provide ongoing system support and troubleshooting as needed

Dashboards & Reporting

Design and develop custom dashboards aligned with VP and leadership requirements

Build, maintain, and optimize reports to support financial and operational decision-making

Manage report scheduling and automation, ensuring timely and accurate distribution

Continuously improve reporting efficiency and usability

Continuous Improvement

Stay current with Deltek Vantagepoint releases, updates, and capabilities

Proactively identify opportunities to enhance workflows, automation, and reporting

Recommend and implement system improvements to drive efficiency and better user experience

Training & Documentation

Develop training materials, including quick reference guides (“quick cards”) for dashboards and system functionality

Provide user training and support to improve adoption and effective use of Vantagepoint tools

Act as a resource for end users across departments

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of:

Vantagepoint modules (Projects, Billing, Accounting, CRM, Resource Planning)

Dashboards and reporting tools within Vantagepoint

Workflow configuration and system administration

Experience with:

Report scheduling and automation

Data analysis and visualization

Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools is an asset

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field

Minimum 5+ years of experience with Deltek Vantagepoint (or Vision)

Experience supporting finance or accounting teams in a professional services environment is strongly preferred

Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 /annually
