Senior Cyber Security Manager

Full-time

Job Description
The Senior Cybersecurity Manager serves as the operational leader of the cybersecurity team, reporting directly to the CISO. This role bridges strategic direction and day-to-day execution across three maturing practice areas: Threat Detection & Response, Corporate Security, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC). The Senior Cybersecurity Manager keeps a senior-level team aligned and accountable, owns the intake and evaluation of inbound security requests from across the organization, and maintains the ability to contribute hands-on when needed.

This is a management role for someone who has not left the technical world behind. The team is experienced and largely self-directed — the right person here is a force multiplier, not a bottleneck. This is a full-time role with hybrid, remote, and on-site opportunities available.

Responsibilities
Owning day-to-day management of the cybersecurity team across all three practice areas, providing direction, removing blockers, and maintaining accountability

Conducting performance reviews and delivering ongoing feedback that supports the growth and retention of senior-level contributors

Fostering a collaborative, high-trust culture where experienced engineers can operate with autonomy while staying aligned to organizational goals

Serving as the primary decision-maker for inbound requests from across the company and IT, particularly the evaluation of new software, tooling, vendors, and development projects for security risk and fit

Establishing and maturing a lightweight intake and triage process that protects team focus without creating unnecessary friction for the business

Escalating to the CISO only what requires executive judgment; owning everything else

Keeping the team on track against priorities, maintaining visibility into work in progress, and surfacing resourcing gaps or risks early

Supporting planning cycles by providing input on team capacity, priorities, and organizational needs

Helping defining and maturing cross-vertical workflows, runbooks, and team processes as the organization grows

Contributing technically in areas of your expertise, whether in security operations, corporate security, or risk, as capacity allows and gaps arise

Providing technical review and informed guidance on engineering work across verticals where a senior second opinion adds value

Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or related field; equivalent experience considered

7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong foundation in either:
Security Operations — alert triage, incident investigation, detection engineering, vulnerability management, and/or system hardening; or

Corporate Security — endpoint and infrastructure security, security architecture review, and evaluation of tools and technologies for IT and development teams

Exposure to GRC or the complementary domain (SecOps or CorpSec) sufficient to credibly oversee those teams, set expectations, and make sound decisions — breadth matters as much as depth at this level

2+ years in a people management or technical lead role, with demonstrated experience leading senior individual contributors

Skills:
Experience with security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, PAM, DLP, or equivalent

Familiarity with cloud security, particularly AWS

Strong judgment about when to decide independently and when to escalate

Ability to evaluate technology and vendor requests for security risk and communicate decisions clearly to non-security stakeholders

Ability to prioritize, plan, and balance workload across a multi-functional team

Effective communicator verbally and in writing
