How You’ll Support Our Mission

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to take ownership of our database environments, ensuring they are secure, high-performing, and resilient. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership and collaboration, supporting both on-premises and cloud-based platforms while driving best practices across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing - the day to day

Manage, maintain, and optimize database systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance

Lead performance tuning and troubleshooting efforts, identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions

Design, implement, and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) strategies

Administer and support cloud database platforms, including Azure SQL Database, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Aurora

Implement and manage database security, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards

Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as PowerShell and T-SQL

Design and manage ETL/ELT processes to support data integration and transformation workflows

Configure and maintain SQL replication to ensure data consistency and availability across systems

Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to support data-driven initiatives

Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior DBAs and contributing to strategic database planning

What we are looking for - the essentials 

Strong hands-on experience in database administration (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server or similar platforms)

Proven expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting complex database issues

Solid experience designing and supporting HA/DR solutions (e.g., clustering, failover, replication)

Experience working with cloud-based database services in Azure and AWS environments

In-depth knowledge of database encryption and security best practices

Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, T-SQL, or similar)

Experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes

Strong understanding of SQL replication technologies

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Who You Are - the desirables (It’s a plus if you have): 

Experience in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud)

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or database technologies

Ability to lead initiatives and influence technical decisions

Strong stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration

Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
