Avenga is looking for a Database Administrator to join our international team. Our customer operates in the real estate, banking, and legal domains, delivering technology-driven services and internal platforms that require reliable, scalable, and high-performing database infrastructure.
In this role, you will focus on database development, optimisation, and operational excellence across critical internal systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to improve database reliability, performance, security, and scalability in both on-premise and cloud environments.

This is you
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role

Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL

Hands-on experience with MySQL or MariaDB

Experience with query optimisation and database performance tuning

Understanding of database design, normalisation, and indexing strategies

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure SQL or AWS RDS

Experience with backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions

Knowledge of database monitoring and observability tools

Basic scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, or Bash

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English

This is your role
Develop and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, and SQL queries

Optimise database performance and resolve bottlenecks

Monitor database health, availability, and system stability

Support database backup, recovery, and replication processes

Collaborate with development teams on data-related requirements

Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents and production issues

Implement best practices for database security and reliability

Contribute to database migration and modernisation initiatives

Automate routine database administration tasks

Maintain clear technical documentation and operational procedures

Participate in improving internal database standards and processes

Support continuous improvement of database infrastructure and performance
