Senior Major Gifts Officer
Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking is seeking a Senior Major Gifts Officer (SMGO) to join TR's Development x Individual Giving team! The Senior Major Gifts Officer will serve as a frontline fundraising leader within the Individual Giving department. The Senior Major Gifts Officer will play a pivotal role in driving TR’s most significant philanthropic relationships, bringing a high level of sophistication, strategic acumen, and a proven record of securing gifts ranging from $50k - $1M+.

This role requires exceptional relationship-building abilities, strategic thinking, and outstanding communication skills to advance TR’s mission and deepen donor engagement. The Senior Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals (HNWI), family foundations, and Donor Advised Funds (DAFs).This person will create strategies for existing supporters, as well as new prospects, and work closely with TR leadership to move prospects along the continuum of giving to successfully achieve a heavy annual budget goal over the next few years.

Duties:
Portfolio & Relationship Management
- Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of 100–150+ high-net-worth individual (HNWI) prospects, comprised of active donors with giving history within the last five years and each capable of making gifts of $50,000 & above, with an annual revenue goal established collaboratively with the Director of Individual Giving and Advancement leadership.
- Design and implement individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for each portfolio member, informed by deep discovery and donor interests.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for some of TR's most significant individual donor relationships, ensuring a world-class experience at every touchpoint.
- Identify and qualify new prospects from existing donor pipelines, event attendees, board networks, wealth screening, and peer referrals.
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Director in developing and implementing strategy for TR’s individual major and principal gift program.
- Bring an entrepreneurial spirit to build and evolve a best-in-class program that identifies, cultivates, and sustains transformative philanthropic partnerships.
- Build internal processes and infrastructure to successfully manage top donors in the major gift portfolio and scale outcomes aligned with TR’s growth plan.
- Collaborate with other Development teams (Mass Market, Corporate Partnerships, Foundations, and Planned Giving), communications, finance, and operations to maximize donor engagement opportunities.
- Support board member engagement in major gift fundraising through briefings, joint calls, and cultivation strategies.
Solicitation & Proposal Development
- Independently craft and deliver compelling, highly personalized proposals, presentations, and gift agreements for five- to seven-figure solicitations.
- Partner with Development teammates to ensure timely and meaningful stewardship, including customized impact reports, site visits, and recognition.
Events & External Presence
- Serve as lead fundraiser for high-level cultivation and stewardship events targeting HNWI prospects and donors.
- Represent Team Rubicon at select external events, conferences, and donor convenings to build the organization's profile in the philanthropic community.
Data Integrity & Reporting
- Maintain rigorous data integrity for all managed prospects in CRM platform, including contact records, actions, proposals, pledge reminders, and notable interactions per department guidelines.
- Analyze and report on portfolio performance, forecasting for strategic changes and reporting on key fundraising metrics to the program's director.
- Support creation and submission of pitch, proposal, and reporting materials for current and prospective donors.
Education and Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
- 5-8 years of a proven track record of success in major gift fundraising for a non-profit organization
- Understand and apply best practices in Major Gift fundraising, including donor pipeline management, wealth screening, cultivation strategies, solicitation, and closing gifts to secure sustained philanthropic support
- Customer relationship management (CRM) experience and working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite/365, Dynamics, or other equivalent systems such as iWave, etc.
