The Senior Manager, Thought Leader Programming (TLP) is responsible for driving peer-to-peer education, generating actionable insights from thought leaders, and translating those insights into educational and commercial strategy. These three functions distinguish this role from Brand Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and the Thought Leader Liaison team, and define where the position creates unique value for the organization.

The position requires a proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive; the individual is expected to identify opportunities to improve strategy, execution, and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

Thought Leader Engagement & Strategy

Lead the development and execution of thought leader engagement strategies aligned with brand and disease education objectives

Develop and manage KOL relationships required to support advisory boards, educational content development, speaker programs, and strategic initiatives

Partner with Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs), Speaker Bureau, and conference teams to ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all engagement channels

Advisory Boards, Steering Committees & Insight Generation

Collaborate with the Sr. Director, TLP to define strategic objectives and plan advisory boards and steering committees aligned with business priorities

Define meeting objectives and discussion frameworks that generate actionable insights aligned with business priorities

Oversee end-to-end execution, including cross-functional coordination, RFA development and approvals, advisor selection, faculty management, and agency oversight

Lead development of meeting materials and onsite assets (digital and print)

Lead collection, synthesis, and communication of insights generated through advisory boards, steering committees, and thought leader engagements

Translate insights into actionable recommendations that inform brand strategy, educational initiatives, and field execution

Partner cross-functionally to identify insight needs and ensure findings are effectively disseminated across the organization

Content Development & Educational Programming

Develop, review, and manage educational and promotional materials (e.g., slide decks, training tools, product theater content) to support peer-to-peer engagement

Lead national and regional product theater content development, including faculty collaboration, slide reviews, and execution support

Ensure educational programming and content are aligned with identified learning gaps, strategic priorities, and evolving clinical evidence

Drive educational initiatives and thought leader engagement strategies that strengthen disease-state understanding, inform business strategy, and support organizational objectives

External Partnerships & Society Engagement

Identify and manage relationships with key professional societies and third-party organizations

Drive collaborations that enhance disease awareness and expand educational reach through educational collaborations, congress activities, faculty development opportunities, and society-sponsored initiatives

Establish long-term partnerships that position the organization as a trusted contributor to the clinical community

Develop all related content and assets to support each initiative

Agency & Operational Management

Oversee external agency partners supporting advisory boards, educational programming, content development, and congress initiatives to ensure high-quality deliverables, strong performance, and effective budget management

Manage timelines and workflows across multiple initiatives simultaneously

Maintain operational excellence across all TLP activities

Compliance & Governance

Partner with the Commercial Review Team (CRT) to manage content approvals and ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and company policies

Ensure all activities adhere to applicable standards governing promotional and educational engagements

Additional Expectations

Travel as needed to support conferences, advisory boards, and thought leader engagements

Demonstrate adaptability, ownership, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Proactively identify opportunities to enhance TLP capabilities and impact

Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Technical Proficiencies

Proven expertise in thought leader engagement strategy, including the development and management of KOL relationships in support of advisory boards and educational programs

Strong insight generation and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable strategic recommendations

Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across commercial, medical, and operational teams

Experience developing and managing educational content aligned with clinical evidence and strategic priorities

Scientific and clinical aptitude, with the ability to engage credibly with thought leaders and translate clinical knowledge into educational strategy

Track record of leading complex, multi-workstream projects with competing timelines and cross-functional dependencies

Vendor and agency management experience a plus

Preferred Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; master's degree preferred

7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience

4-5 years of experience in thought leader programming, medical education, or brand management; endocrinology and/or orphan drug experience a plus

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position is $154,980 – $205,110; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
