The team works collaboratively across multiple disciplines to deliver projects from concept through construction across commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, and mixed-use sectors.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, public health, and drainage systems

Prepare and review calculations, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation

Deliver mechanical design packages across RIBA Stages 1–6

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, architectural, and sustainability consultants

Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables

Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders

Present technical solutions, design proposals, and project updates to clients

Integrate low-carbon technologies such as heat pumps, MVHR, district heating, and renewable energy systems into project designs

Collaborate with sustainability teams to support Part L compliance, TM54, TM65, BREEAM, and energy strategy requirements

Promote whole-life carbon thinking and energy-efficient design principles

Review contractor submissions, respond to technical queries, and provide construction-stage support

Contribute to technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance within the engineering team

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards chartership through CIBSE or IMechE

Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE Guides, BS/EN Standards, and industry best practices

Proven experience delivering mechanical building services designs within the UK market

Experience working on commercial offices, residential developments, hotels, retail, and mixed-use projects

Strong experience designing HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, public health, and drainage systems

Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and other relevant building services design software

Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing project delivery

Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills

Excellent problem-solving, technical analysis, and decision-making.

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously

Willing and able to work a mid-shift schedule to support and collaborate with UK-based teams and stakeholders

This is a fully remote position; candidates must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home office setup to support daily collaboration and project delivery activities.

Nice to have:
Experience with Passivhaus, NABERS, or Net Zero Carbon projects

Experience incorporating heat pumps, MVHR, district energy, or renewable energy systems into designs

Knowledge of thermal modelling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Experience supporting BREEAM-certified projects

Familiarity with BIM Level 2 workflows and digital engineering processes

Experience working in both traditional and design-and-build procurement environments

Strong understanding of embodied carbon and whole-life carbon assessment principles

Previous mentoring or team leadership experience
