Senior Real Estate Tax Advisor
Job Description:
• Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring their best interests are represented, with up to 50% of time spent meeting with clients via Zoom
• Create and deliver tailored tax plans to clients, and update those plans periodically
• Maintain strong client relationships by managing their expectations, being responsive to their communications/emails, and reaching out proactively
• Research complex tax issues, citing the Internal Revenue Code and supporting sources, and provide recommendations for resolution
• Coordinate the client’s tax preparation needs with the tax preparation team, and assist with client communication during tax season to ensure proposed strategies are implemented
• Remain updated on changes in tax laws and procedures
Requirements:
• CPA or EA Certification (CPA Preferred)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Tax from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5-7 years of real estate and small business tax compliance and/or planning experience
• Experience working directly with clients, managing client relationships, and ensuring engagement objectives are met accurately and on time
• Experience performing tax projections and estimates using professional tax planning software (e.g., BNA Tax Planner, CCH Prosystem fx Planning, etc.)
• Effective written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with partnership syndications, including knowledge of waterfall allocations and operating agreements (Preferred)
