• *About the Opportunity

Hala Publishing Group is expanding its international publishing portfolio and is seeking distinguished Founding Editors-in-Chief to lead the launch of a new generation of high-impact, peer-reviewed journals across globally significant research domains.

This is a foundational academic leadership role, offering selected candidates the opportunity to shape a journal from inception through to DOAJ, Scopus, and Q1-indexed status, while contributing to the advancement of global scientific knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the academic, strategic, and scientific direction of the journal within your domain
• Define the Aims & Scope, editorial vision, and publication framework aligned with international standards (COPE, ICMJE, DOAJ)
• Establish and oversee a high-caliber Editorial Board and peer-review network
• Ensure integrity, quality, and efficiency of the peer-review and editorial process
• Drive manuscript acquisition, academic outreach, and journal positioning globally
• Guide the journal through its indexing pathway (DOAJ → Scopus → Web of Science)
• Collaborate with Hala Publishing Group on:
• Strategic growth and positioning
• Special issues and thematic directions
• Long-term academic and indexing milestones

Role Structure
• Position Type: Founding Editor-in-Chief
• Engagement Model: Voluntary Academic Leadership Role
• Time Commitment: Approximately 2–4 hours per week

Compensation & Incentives

• Transition into performance-based revenue sharing model upon journal growth
• Incentives aligned with key milestones, including:
• Journal indexing (Scopus, Web of Science)
• APC revenue performance
• Publication volume and impact


Support Provided

Hala Publishing Group provides full operational and publishing support, including:
• End-to-end publishing infrastructure (OJS system, DOI registration, hosting)
• Editorial and administrative support teams
• Marketing, branding, and global visibility strategies
• Manuscript pipeline development and academic outreach support
• Production services (typesetting, formatting, publication)


Candidate Profile

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
• A strong academic and research background in a high-impact domain
• Prior experience as an editor, reviewer, or published researcher in indexed journals
• Demonstrated academic leadership and strategic vision
• Ability to guide a journal from launch to indexing
• An established or emerging international academic network
