Senior User Researcher (Qualitative Focus)

In This Role
In this role, you will support qualitative user research efforts for a portfolio of data, analytics, and business intelligence products used by technical professionals. You will partner closely with researchers, designers, and product teams to plan and execute studies that uncover user needs, workflows, and pain points.
You’ll play a hands-on role in conducting interviews and usability testing, managing research logistics, and synthesizing findings into clear, actionable insights. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both the execution and operational sides of research and is comfortable working within complex technical domains.
Responsibilities
Support the planning and execution of qualitative research studies, including in-depth interviews and usability testing
Conduct and assist with user interviews, contextual inquiry, and usability evaluations to understand user workflows and pain points
Help manage research operations, including participant recruitment, scheduling, note-taking, and study logistics
Analyze qualitative data and synthesize findings into themes, reports, and presentations
Create clear, structured deliverables such as research summaries, insights decks, and documentation
Maintain organized research repositories and documentation for team access and reuse
Collaborate across multiple research projects, ensuring timely and high-quality execution
Identify patterns in user feedback and help translate insights into product and design recommendations
Ensure research activities align with privacy, consent, and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Information Science, Market Research, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
4–6+ years of experience in UX research, user research, or market research
Demonstrated experience with qualitative research methods, including:
Interviews
Usability testing
Surveys
Qualitative synthesis
Strong ability to analyze and communicate research findings clearly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
Comfort working in technical or complex product environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience researching enterprise software, technical products, or data/analytics tools
Familiarity with cloud technologies, analytics platforms, or developer-focused tools
Experience supporting research in technical user domains (e.g., data professionals, engineers, analysts)
Exposure to end-to-end research workflows, including study design through delivery
Interest in data, analytics, and modern technical workflows
Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional product teams
Salary Range
At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $90,000– $100,000 per annum. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
