Position Summary

The Board Relations & Governance Associate/Specialist, Partnership Management serves as a concierge and primary support partner to new and existing Board members throughout the full Board member lifecycle. This role ensures that Board members are well-supported, informed, and compliant with all onboarding, training, meeting, and governance requirements.

This position plays a critical operational role in creating a positive, seamless Board experience by managing logistics, documentation, communications, and tracking of governance requirements. This position requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, professionalism, and a service-oriented mindset when working with Board members and senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Board Member Concierge & Lifecycle Support 

Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for Board members for logistical questions, onboarding needs, and governance requirements

Coordinate Board member onboarding, including:

Orientation materials and training schedules

Required acknowledgements, disclosures, and compliance documentation

Access to Board portals, calendars, and communication tools

Maintain and verify accurate Board member contact information and records

Process and track expense and mileage reimbursements 

Coordinate conference registration, travel arrangements, and related logistics

Serve as a liaison to ensure Board members receive timely information and materials needed to fulfill their responsibilities

Track and maintain records of Board member terms, committee assignments, meeting attendance, and completion of required trainings to ensure compliance and accurate governance documentation.

Support offboarding and transitions for departing Board members

 

Governance & Compliance Support 

Maintain accurate and up-to-date Board records, including:

Bylaws, policies, and governing documents

Board member agreements, disclosures, and certifications

Track compliance requirements and deadlines (e.g., trainings, filings, fingerprinting, background checks, financial disclosures)

Support compliance with open meetings, public records, and governance requirements as directed, including providing support of annual review of changes in legislative requirements

Support the drafting of Board governance policy revisions and track changes thereto, prepare Board memo’s in support of the changes  

Manage Epicenter Board minute processes, obtain necessary Board member signatures, and support Authorizer compliance requirements in various systems required state to state

Assist in audits, authorizer reviews, or compliance requests related to governance

 

Communication & Relationship Management

Draft and coordinate Board communications, including reminders, announcements, and updates

Ensure Board members receive timely, clear, and well-organized information

Support Board Chairs, committee leads, and senior staff with logistical and administrative needs

Maintain a professional, service-oriented relationship with Board members

Board & Committee Meeting Support

Coordinate logistics for Board and committee meetings, including:

Scheduling, tracking quorum, calendars, and meeting reminders

Preparation and distribution of agendas and meeting materials

Technology support for virtual or hybrid meetings

Draft, format, and organize meeting materials, minutes, and resolutions under leadership guidance

Track action items, votes, and follow-ups resulting from Board meetings

Systems, Tools & Continuous Improvement

Maintain Board management systems or portals to ensure accurate information and easy access for Board members

Develop and maintain checklists, trackers, and calendars to support Board operations and compliance

Identify opportunities to improve the Board member experience and operational efficiency

 

Cross-Functional Coordination

Partner with Executive, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure Board readiness and alignment

Support special projects related to governance, compliance, PSSO team or Board operations as assigned

 
 
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by factors including skill set, experience, and location.

 
The full-time salary range for this role is $70,000 – $75,000 annually.
