About the Team 

UKG’s Portfolio Marketing team sits at the center of how our platform comes to life in the market. We connect product innovation, customer needs, and go-to-market execution ensuring our expanding portfolio is understood, differentiated, and valued by buyers across industries. 

This role works in close partnership with Product Management, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, and Executive Leadership. As UKG continues to evolve our Workforce Operating System and Workforce AI, Portfolio Marketing plays a critical role in creating clarity, focus, and momentum across a complex, multi-product organization. 

About the Role 

As Senior Director of Portfolio Marketing, you will define and own UKG’s portfolio- and platform-level narrative how our products come together to solve real workforce problems, why that matters to different buyers, and how it drives measurable business impact. 

This is a highly strategic, high‑visibility role and a true right hand to John, requiring strong judgment, influence, and the ability to bring order to ambiguity. You will translate innovation into outcome-driven messaging, shape global campaigns, and ensure our platform story resonates across industries, personas, and buying committees. 

You will operate at both strategy and execution altitude setting direction, guiding peers, and ensuring ideas land in the market through scalable plays and campaigns. 

Key responsibilities include: 

Portfolio & Platform Narrative 

Own UKG’s platform-level positioning, messaging architecture, and value proposition across a multi-product portfolio 

Define the “why, for whom, and why now” of UKG’s Workforce Operating System and Workforce AI 

Create differentiated narratives that clearly explain complexity why large enterprises operate differently and why UKG matters 

Develop ROI and business value frameworks that support both marketing and sales conversations 

Segmentation, Personas & Vertical Translation 

Partner with GMs and Product Marketing to define target segments, personas, and high‑value use cases 

Translate horizontal platform capabilities into vertical‑specific relevance (e.g., manufacturing vs. other industries) 

Ensure messaging reflects how buying decisions are actually made not just by IT, but across the business 

Campaign & Go‑to‑Market Enablement 

Set strategic direction for major campaigns, solution plays, and market activations 

Build scalable “base play kits” that Demand Gen, Digital, and Sales can activate globally 

Ensure portfolio messaging consistency while allowing flexibility for speed and iteration 

Content doesn’t need to be perfect you’ll partner closely with Creative (including Krista McCrimmons) to refine and scale 

Launch & Activation Leadership 

Lead major product, platform, and innovation launches to awareness and demand 

Align launches to existing portfolio narratives and GTM priorities 

Create launch briefs that clearly articulate narrative, audience, use cases, and commercial impact 

Sales Partnership & Revenue Impact 

Partner with Sales leadership to ensure messaging supports deal progression and differentiation 

Enable the field with clear, outcome-driven narratives and plays 

Tie portfolio marketing directly to:  

Pipeline creation and acceleration 

Win-rate improvement 

Deal size and sales-cycle velocity 

Organizational Leadership & Clarity 

Establish clear ownership and ways of working across Portfolio Marketing, Product Marketing, and Demand Generation 

Influence peers and senior stakeholders without formal authority 

Prioritize high-impact work and maintain focus amid noise and change 

About You 

You are a senior, enterprise B2B marketer who thrives in complexity and ambiguity. You think like a business leader, not just a marketer, and you know how to translate sophisticated technology into compelling, buyer‑relevant stories. 

Basic Qualifications  

10+ years of experience in Portfolio Marketing, Solutions Marketing, or Product Marketing within B2B SaaS 

Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management 

Demonstrated ownership of portfolio‑ or platform‑level messaging across multiple products or solutions 

Experience supporting enterprise go‑to‑market motions, including complex buying groups and long sales cycles 

Proven partnership with Sales, Product, and Demand Generation teams to support pipeline and revenue outcomes 

Preferred Qualifications  

Experience marketing a multi‑product, platform‑based portfolio 

Experience developing messaging frameworks, solution narratives, and value propositions used in campaigns and sales enablement 

Background in business applications technology (e.g., HCM, ERP, CRM, CX, financial systems); infrastructure‑only backgrounds excluded 

Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and peers without direct authority 

Prior exposure to HR, workforce management, or people technology 

Experience translating horizontal platform capabilities into vertical or industry‑specific narratives 

Demonstrated impact on revenue metrics (pipeline creation, win rates, deal size, sales cycle velocity) 

Experience leading or supporting global or distributed teams 

Familiarity with AI‑enabled products or applying AI to marketing workflows and content development 

Experience supporting organizations through significant growth or transformation (IPO, acquisition, portfolio expansion) 

External credibility such as speaking engagements, published thought leadership, or industry visibility 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

The pay range for this position is $207,400 to $264,950. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
