PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Senior DX Systems Specialist – Aftermarket is the go‑to DX systems specialist responsible for DX (Direct Expansion) system performance, troubleshooting, startups, and refrigerant retrofit solutions within the service and aftermarket organization. This role provides advanced, hands-on DX expertise while serving as a key technical partner to customers, Sales, Engineering, and internal service teams. The position balances field execution, customer-facing technical leadership, and solution development, with a strong focus on strengthening documentation, standards, and guidelines for DX systems across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a DX expert with strong practical experience, structured problem‑solving skills, and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear, executable solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DX Technical Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise
Provide expert guidance on DX system operation, performance, refrigerants, compressors, and controls interaction
Support complex customer technical clarifications related to system behavior, performance expectations, and application suitability

Field Troubleshooting, Startups & Critical Interventions
Lead advanced DX diagnostics and root cause analysis for complex or escalated service cases
Execute and support DX startups, commissioning, and performance verification activities
Conduct on-site evaluations for system instability, refrigerant-related issues, controls integration, and operational anomalies
Support and oversee complex service interventions as required

Refrigerant Retrofit & Solution Development
Act as the technical lead for refrigerant retrofit projects, from initial assessment through execution
Assess feasibility, risks, system impacts, and execution strategies for retrofit opportunities
Collaborate with Engineering, Project, and Sales teams to develop technically sound retrofit solutions
Support customer-facing technical discussions to align on scope, approach, and execution strategy

Sales & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales and Aftermarket teams to develop service, retrofit, and upgrade solutions
Participate in customer technical discussions as a trusted DX expert
Coordinate with Engineering, Factory, Controls, Warranty, and Quality teams to resolve systemic or recurring DX issues

Documentation, Standards & Continuous Improvement
Develop and maintain DX service documentation, troubleshooting guides, startup procedures, and retrofit guidelines
Capture field learnings and convert them into standardized best practices
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, service quality, and customer satisfaction

Technical Coaching & Knowledge Enablement
Provide technical coaching and mentorship to service technicians and internal teams
Support targeted technical training initiatives related to DX systems, refrigerants, and controls
Act as a technical reference point during escalations and complex diagnostics

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience in HVAC / DX systems
Strong hands-on experience with DX systems in field service, troubleshooting, and startups
Solid knowledge of refrigerants, compressors, system controls, and DX applications
Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers and internal stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Experience supporting or leading refrigerant retrofit projects
Demonstrated collaboration with Sales and project teams on solution development and execution
Experience developing or improving technical documentation and service standards
Exposure to project coordination or structured execution within service scopes
