Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance through various accounting functions. This position involves managing month-end close processes, payroll validation, sales and use tax compliance, and maintaining accounting software configurations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Month-End Close
Complete all account reconciliations
Post prepaid and accrual entries
Record all fixed asset acquisitions and disposals
Post all reoccurring entries
Prepare trial balances for review
Intacct (ERP system)
Complete weekly bank reconciliation
Manage weekly expense import prior to billing cycle
Perform vendor, client, and new user setup
Perform new project, account, and item code setup
Post client payments and run AR aging report
Expense Management
Review and post all credit card charges and employee reimbursements
Review and post all vendor invoices once AP has entered
Maintain system user setup
Payroll & Benefits
Complete bi-weekly payroll validation prior to pay cycle
Maintain IRA reconciliation
Prepare and post payroll journal entries
Work with HR to reconcile benefits invoices prior to payment
Sales & Use Tax
Remit sales and use taxes monthly/quarterly/as due.
Maintain tax tracker.
Assist with new state setup/research.
Audit and collect exemption certificates, as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Proven experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of month-end close processes and payroll management a plus.
Familiarity with Intacct or similar accounting software a plus.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Normal periods of sitting and standing in an office environment
Extended periods of sitting at a workstation/desk in an office environment
