Job Description

Overview of Position

In our new position of Staff Accountant, you will have the opportunity to take on a wide range of challenging accounting and tax responsibilities while learning to work in an Agile environment. Your duties will include executing general accounting tasks such as accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaids, journal entries, and reconciliations. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial month-end close activities as directed

    Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records

    Prepare journal entries and ensure that there is adequate supporting documentation and proper coding

    Track and record monthly fixed assets ledger

    Active role in monthly, quarterly, and annual close process

    Assist with annual financial and 401K audits

    Maintain Accounts Receivable collections process, including communication with customers and sales reps on past due balances

    Assist with VAT registrations and filings

    Respond to customer inquiries and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner, which may include working with various internal departments

    Assist with process and system improvement projects

    Assist with ad hoc projects, research, and the annual audit as necessary

Qualifications

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent

    2+ years of general ledger accounting, tax preparation, auditing or financial reporting experience

    Experience in settings that require critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills

    Impeccable analytical and organizational skills

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • NetSuite, Salesforce, Concur and advanced Excel skills preferred

    Must have a demonstrated ability to work well in a team and with people in other functions, to multitask and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times as this position will be exposed to highly sensitive and confidential information

    Ability to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team

    Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

    Ability to excel and adapt in a fast paced, always changing, team-oriented environment

    Must pay high attention to detail and be able to process a high volume of information quickly and accurately

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with multiple departments

    Strong capability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

    Must be held accountable for agreed upon deliverables and timelines

    High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

Where you’ll be working: We proudly support a collaborative remote environment for our globally distributed teammates, while also using our Boulder office as a resource.

Compensation: Scaled Agile is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The target salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
