Job Summary

As a Staff Data Scientist at Walmart Connect, you will play a critical role in leading the adoption of our marketing and measurement products across consumer segments. You will develop and improve display advertising measurement strategies, define vision and strategies for measurement methodologies, and build collaborative relationships with key partners. Your expertise in data science, analytics, and marketing will help drive business growth and inform strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve display advertising measurement strategies across income lift, artificial control groups, ghost ads, MMM, MTA, A/B testing, and other areas
  • Define vision and strategies for display advertising measurement methodologies, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving objectives
  • Build collaborative relationships with key partners by aligning priorities with business goals, communicating and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive management
  • Manage product roadmaps, align business and technical needs, determine rollout strategies, and manage risks
  • Continuously engage with senior management and stakeholders to ensure alignments and manage interdependencies
  • Explain complex modeling methods in simple terms and develop compelling narratives that connect modeling results with business problems
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline data generation solutions
  • Integrate disparate data sources and leverage modern analytics best practices to deliver integrated actionable insights to partners and senior management around digital advertising optimization
  • Present media insights and recommendations to different levels of senior clients

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of industry experience in data science, measurement, marketing strategy & analytics, Ad-Tech, Mar-Tech, or related fields
  • Proficient coding skills (SQL/Python/R) and database knowledge
  • Experience in building measurement solutions, including income lift, ghost ads, market mix, and multi-touch attribution models; extensive experience with predictive modeling algorithms
  • Experience in product control, or a related field
  • Strong project management skills, including managing technical resources and multiple priorities & milestones
  • A passion for working in a fast-paced agile environment
  • A collaborative attitude and a sense of curiosity
  • Sound business judgment, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to persuade others internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

We would love it if you also had:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field
  • Experience in end-to-end product delivery, self-serve platforms, design, user experiences, automation, optimizations, and data analytics
